Description
Primogenito Solera Viejo: This Madurado en Madera (matured in wood) is often mistakenly listed as Madeira but in fact this wine comes from the Spanish region of Aragon
Primogenito, translated it also means the “first” or “the best”. These vintage rarities come from what is probably the oldest and best-known growing area of Carinena in Spain, which had a unique reputation for decades and have had the predicate status DO (Denominacion Origin) since 1960. Due to the oxidative evolution, similar to that of the sherry production, this great and unique wine presents itself like an Oloroso sherry, complex and elegant, full-bodied and persistent in taste and with an high alcohol content (14.9% ABV). It is also extremely resistant to oxidation. As a result, once the bottle is open, you can enjoy it for a longer period of time.
This wine gets its maturity and its excellent shelf life from the particularly traditional care and storage in large, oak barrels with a capacity of several thousand litres that are stored in huge ancient cellar vaults.
Each bottle is individually filled by hand and carefully sealed with sealing wax. The Primogenito makes a wonderful gift for a very special anniversary or for any other great occasion.
