90 Points, Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate, 30th Nov 2014
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 2011 has a more stemmy bouquet, but fresh and vital, more herbaceous than its peers with conspicuous tertiary scents. The palate is well-balanced and very classic in style, perhaps slightly green but in a positive sense because the lack of fruit is compensated by fine tension and poise. This is a Gevrey-Chambertin for those that appreciate traditional Burgundy. This has meliorated since last year and is more promising that I thought.
